Theoretical fluency and accurate use of CDT concepts and frameworks.
Four Institute awards recognise a clear progression: from fluent understanding of Constructed Development Theory to applied practice, advanced developmental judgement, and sustained contribution to the field.
Candidates may progress through the pathway or seek recognition of prior learning and experience. Every route is assessed against the same published outcomes; experience is evidence only when it can be demonstrated.
Theoretical fluency and accurate use of CDT concepts and frameworks.
Supervised application, reflective practice, and evidence of competence.
Complex practice, developmental judgement, integration, and viva.
Sustained contribution and an original body of work advancing the field.
Demonstrates theoretical understanding of CDT, IACR, AQ, TQ, Cognitive Intentions, Dynamic Intelligence, and developmental construction.
Recognises safe, reflective application of constructed development within the candidate’s existing professional scope.
For practitioners who demonstrate sophisticated developmental judgement, work with complexity, and integrate CDT across cases or systems.
The Institute’s highest professional recognition, awarded for a sustained and demonstrable contribution to constructed development.
The value of each award rests on the quality of the evidence, the independence of judgement, and the candidate’s ability to represent their recognition accurately.
Entry requirements, learning outcomes, evidence rules, decision criteria, and permitted award wording are explicit.
Claims are supported by authentic work, critical reflection, case material, and verifiable contribution.
Practice awards require documented supervision and observed or recorded work appropriate to the level.
Advanced and Fellowship candidates defend their judgement, evidence, limitations, and original contribution.
All candidates commit to the Institute’s ethical code, boundaries of competence, and accurate public representation.
Advanced awards include an assessor independent of the candidate’s teaching and direct supervision.
Procedural appeals, complaints, conflicts of interest, and academic or professional misconduct follow documented processes.
Practice designations require continuing development, ethical good standing, and periodic renewal where specified.
Requirements scale with the award, but the integrity of the decision process remains constant.
Prior certificated or experiential learning is mapped to the same outcomes and independently assessed. Any gaps must be completed before an award is conferred.
The candidate’s background, professional scope, intended application, and any prior-learning claim are mapped to the award outcomes.
The candidate completes required learning, practice, supervision, and evidence gathering under agreed boundaries.
A complete evidence portfolio is submitted with declarations of authenticity, consent, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest.
Assessors evaluate the evidence against the published criteria. External review is required for Advanced Practitioner and FIAD decisions.
Where required, the candidate explains their reasoning, responds to challenge, and demonstrates that the work is genuinely their own.
The Recognition Board records the outcome, conditions, feedback, and route to appeal. Successful candidates receive the award wording they may use publicly.
These are professional awards conferred by the Institute for Adult Development. They recognise Institute-defined learning, practice, and contribution in Constructed Development Theory.
The Institute intends to develop the governance, supervision, assessment, ethics, external-examining, viva, and appeals architecture needed for a future validation conversation with a recognised university or other degree-awarding body.
Every recognition decision is accountable: conflicts are declared, evidence is retained under appropriate controls, and candidates receive reasons.
Ratifies standards, assessor appointments, final decisions, conditions, and the conferment or withdrawal of designations.
No assessor determines an advanced award alone where they have also provided the candidate’s principal teaching or supervision.
Confidentiality, consent, reasonable adjustment, data handling, appeals, complaints, and misconduct procedures apply throughout.
Tell the Institute about your background, current practice, and intended contribution. We will explain the relevant outcomes, evidence requirements, and next assessment point.
